About Rochelle Rucker    
  Rochelle Rucker is a graduate of Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, and has more than 10 years experience in journalism and public relations. She is president and CEO of CalComm PR (www.calcommpr.com), and also works in the public relations department at Texas Southern University. Prior to starting CalComm PR, Rucker was manager, media relations at Motivators Inc. Public Relations & Advertising in Houston where she was part of a creative team that was honored with a 2001 Bronze Excalibur Award from the Houston chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Motivators was recognized for its efforts promoting Lionel L.L.C.'s 100th centennial anniversary in 2000. Before joining Motivators, she was business editor at Houston News Today Online (HNTO), a Houston-based Internet newspaper. Rucker got her start in journalism at the Beaumont Enterprise in Beaumont, Texas, where she was a business reporter. While at the Enterprise, she won two incentive awards for outstanding reporting. She also has experience as a freelance journalist writing articles for AFSM The Professional Journal, PM Network, CIO Canada and Quality Digest. She is a member of the Houston Minority Business Council (HMBC), Houston Association of Black Journalists (HABJ), National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA).
